Complete Buyer's Walkthrough

Follow this comprehensive guide to securely access and transact on DarkMatter Market. Failure to follow these steps may compromise your anonymity.

STEP 1 Environment Setup

Before attempting to access the network, ensure your environment is secure. Do not use a standard browser.

  • Download the Tor Browser only from the official Project website.
  • Do not install external plugins or add-ons.
  • Configure Security Settings to "Safer" (disables non-essential scripts).
  • Close all other applications to prevent accidental IP leaks.

STEP 2 Accessing DarkMatter

Use the official V3 onion link below. Verify the URL matches exactly.

Upon loading, you will face a DDOS protection challenge. This may be a rotating circle puzzle, a clock captcha, or matrix text. Solve it to proceed to the login page.

STEP 3 Account Creation

Registering an account requires zero personal information. Follow these strict rules:

  • Username: Choose a random string. Never use a handle you use on the clearweb or other markets.
  • Password: Generate a complex alphanumeric password (min 16 chars).
  • Mnemonic/PIN: CRITICAL. The site will generate a Mnemonic phrase or PIN. Save this offline immediately. If you lose your password, this is the ONLY way to recover your account or funds. Support cannot help you without it.

STEP 4 PGP Setup & Security

Before browsing, secure your account.

1. Add Public Key

Go to Settings > PGP. Paste your public key. The site will ask you to decrypt a message to verify ownership.

2. Enable 2FA

Once verified, enable 2FA. You will now need to decrypt a PGP message every time you log in.

STEP 5 Deposit Funds

Navigate to the Wallet tab. DarkMatter Market uses a distinct wallet system for security.

  • Click "Generate Address". This creates a one-time use address.
  • Send Monero (XMR) or Bitcoin (BTC). Monero is strongly recommended for privacy.
  • Wait for network confirmations (10 for XMR, 2 for BTC).
  • Once confirmed, your balance will update automatically.
Note: Never deposit more than you intend to spend immediately. Use a personal wallet as an intermediary; never send directly from an exchange.

STEP 6 Making a Purchase

Browse listings and vet your vendor carefully. Check "Vendor Trust Level" and recent feedback.

  1. Select product and quantity.
  2. Click "Buy Now".
  3. ENCRYPT SHIPPING INFO: Import the Vendor's PGP key. Encrypt your name and address with THEIR key. Paste the PGP block into the order form.
  4. NEVER send address in plain text.

STEP 7 Finalization & Escrow

After placing an order, funds are held in Escrow.

  • The vendor ships the product.
  • You receive the product.
  • Log back in and mark the order as "Finalize". This releases funds to the vendor.

WARNING: DO NOT "FINALIZE EARLY" (FE)

Unless you are dealing with a highly trusted top-tier vendor, never Finalize Early. If you FE and the package does not arrive, you have no recourse and cannot open a dispute.
